Easter bank holiday is upon us, hopefully you’ve caught up on last week’s post on how to decorate your home for Easter it’s not too late!

In this weeks post I am going to be sharing some of my favourite bedroom organisers. In the first ever post I talked about the importance of decluttering and how to do it, you can catch-up here.

Whilst it’s fantastic to spring clean and declutter we need a system to make sure we don’t fall back into the same habits and to ensure we maintain the good work that we’ve done. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing organisation tips for other rooms in the house. You can implement the following organisation ideas:

  1. Bed- Starting with the bed if you don’t have any under bed drawers and your bed has the space for some storage you can invest in storage boxes where you can store bedding or seasonal clothes/shoes.

  2. Dressing table - I personally do not like my makeup to be out on display I prefer it in a drawer as this allows the top to be clutter free. I have had the Godmorgon acrylic dividers from IKEA for years they are fantastic because they are transparent and they are easy to clean since they are made from plastic.

  3. Chest of Drawers - For drawers you can have different types of drawer inserts- I personally have the Skubb boxes from IKEA again and I use them for us but also they are the best thing if you have a little one. I recommend any type of drawer dividers so you can allocate each box for different things e.g undergarments, gym wear. It makes life so much easier once you know where everything is.

  4. Wardrobe - If you have a wardrobe baskets/ fabric boxes are fantastic to store out of season clothes and keep your wardrobe tidy.. The ideal thing is look at what you have after decluttering and decide where you would like everything to go to make your everyday life easier.

  5. Shoe storage - If you like your shoes on display floating shelves are great, if you prefer them to be hidden you can pop the under the bed in a storage box, or you can also store your shoes in your wardrobe by putting them in fabric storage with compartments.

  6. Lastly A cheeky bonus one : I know we also talked about decluttering our phones in the first week, why not go a step further and group all your apps by putting them in folders so you know where everything is. Essentially everything should have a home.
