HOW TO DECORATE WITH RED

With Valentines day just a week away it got me thinking about the colour that we are seeing everywhere, you guessed it, that colour is RED.

Introducing colour in our spaces can be nerve wrecking especially when we don’t know where to start; with our neutral filled feeds & timelines I can understand why it would be daunting to incorporate colour in our homes. Today’s post will be sharing how to work with the colour red in your home.

Too much of the colour red can leave us feeling anxious and make it difficult to relax, on the other hand red done right will bring warmth, energy and attention into a space. Like any other colour red comes in different shades from warm (yellow based reds) like rust to cool (blue based reds) like raspberry. When done well red can enhance an interior whether as a focal point or in something subtle.

  1. Introduce it in soft furnishings and accessories.

2. Play around with different shades of reds in children’s rooms.

3. Bring a pop of colour with foliage.

4. Adding interest in a neutral scheme with accent chairs.

Like I always say your home should reflect who you are so if you want more colour and are not too sure how to go about it, as always I am here to help.
