CAPE TOWN (mini travel guide)

I recently travelled to Cape Town for a family wedding and we decided to explore this city whilst we were there. Cape Town is so beautiful and such a picturesque city; as you are driving you are just in awe of the scenery. Although we were there for 7 days we really tried to do as many activities as we could, we will definitely be visiting again to tick off more activities we didn’t do on our first trip. If you are an interior lover there was so much to see and so much inspiration all around. In today’s post I will be sharing where to stay, eat and what to do if you are in Cape Town.

Stay

Spier Hotel - Located in Stellenbosch which is know for their vineyards, I genuinely cannot wait to go back to this hotel it was so beautiful, the staff were so welcoming, the rooms were spacious and there was great attention to detail. Another plus of the Spier is there are different activities to do in one place which is convenient for people with children or people who just want to have a relaxing stay.

Karoo Hotel Village - Located 2 hours from Cape Town, this hotel is a great stay if you would like to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Our daughter absolutely loves animals and we were treated to a tractor ride across the farm where we saw all the farm animals, like the Spier hotel they had great activities on site as well as a bar and a restaurant the food here was AMAZING!! Our gentle friend Benji the sheepdog made the stay extra memorable. The secret Kloof pool and treehouse were my highlights from this hotel.

Eat

One of my favourite things about travelling is immersing myself into the culture & food and Cape Town did not disappoint, there where so many options and we were spoilt for choice, I think I gained a couple of pounds because the food was just so good!

Tokara was located in Stellenbosch, this is more fine dining, I enjoyed trying things for the first time like the tempura oyster with black rice &squid ink risotto, , I would have loved to see the restaurant in the day (another reason to go back) it was a stunning restaurant and the food was exquisite.

Tindlovu - was located in Camps Bay along the beach front, it had the most stunning interior, I literally walked in I just felt inspired because everything was well thought out. They serve South African cuisine and the food was delicious, if you’re in Camps Bay check this place out!

Do

Camps Bay Beach is beautiful the white sands and clear blue water make for great for picnics and beach games, it was really windy when we were there but we still enjoyed how beautiful it was.

Signal Hill - Signal Hill is next to the Table Mountain although we did not manage to go up the table mountain (another reason to go back), there was something magical about watching the sun set on the hill overlooking the city (I did not realise the sun set that fast ha!).

Aquila Safari - 2 hours out of Capetown, one of the best decisions we made was to get out of the city and go on safari, this was and still is one of our main highlights as a family. From the location, to the welcome drinks, light lunch and safari adventure. Can I add how stunning the interior was as well as you can see from the images below. Next time I will be spending a couple of nights here too!

If you are thinking of Capetown as a holiday destination, I can’t recommend it enough, everything I have suggested that we loved and enjoyed is great not only for families, but for solo travellers and couples who are on romantic getaways.
