REST & RESET: Finding Inspiration in Marrakech

As a business owner, I rarely write about the ups and downs that come with it. However, a surprise trip for my recent birthday gave me the much-needed recharge and refuel. This was my third time in Marrakech, and it was a refreshing experience filled with so much inspiration.

Slowing down and not constantly running felt liberating, the ability of stepping back allowed me to see the bigger picture and I realised the significance of prioritising rest in our daily lives.

Traveling is undoubtedly my biggest source of inspiration! During my trip, I captured some personal footage and found unexpected inspiration in unexpected places!

Located in the small village of Tameslhout, Le Cazar is a 25 minute drive from Marrakech city centre and this villa is absolutely stunning, as you can see I took a lot of inspirational shots, the mediterranean interior design style, just made everything feel so calm & relaxing, the hosts and all the staff were so gracious, kind and accommodating!!

Comptoir Darna in Marrakech had such a great party and energetic atmosphere you can expect belly dancers, a lot of interaction and amazing staff. When you walk into this restaurant it stimulates all your senses visually all the colours, the sound of the traditional music playing, the smell & taste of the delicious food.

Relais du lac in Lalla Takerkoust near the Atlas Mountains was also stunning from the lake views to the peacocks walking around which my daughter absolutely loved, the laid back relaxed design style was another source of inspiration.

Lastly the souks of Marrakech offer an abundance of inspiration for any design lover, it’s a marketplace like no other, anything you name it you can find it here, I would dedicate at least a whole day in your itinerary for the souks because there is a lot of walking involved! I was really drawn to the rugs and tableware, I can’t wait to inject some of these design elements into future projects.

I hope this post inspires you to take breaks whatever that looks like to you whether it’s going for a walk , a weekend away, or creating healthy work boundaries, you will thank yourself. If you have any questions I am always happy to answer. See you in the next post. Xx
